Obaron (obaron.ai) provides AI Readiness audits for websites via the free Lightning Scan and the paid Docs Readiness Audit. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

Free Lightning Scan

When you use our free scan, we collect:

  • The domain you submit — we fetch your site's homepage to analyze it
  • Your IP address — for rate limiting only, not stored long-term
  • Scan results — score, band, category breakdown, detected issues

Scan results are cached for 30 days to speed up repeat scans, then automatically deleted. Aggregate analytics (domain, score, timestamp) are retained permanently to improve our service.

Docs Readiness Audit

When you purchase an audit, we additionally collect:

  • Email address — to deliver your audit report
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVC, or billing address.
  • Domain and scan configuration — the domain you're auditing, selected tier, and any custom questions

Your email is used only to deliver audit results and communicate about your order. We do not send marketing emails unless you separately opt in via the waitlist.

Waitlist / email signup

If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. We use it to notify you about product launches and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing hi@obaron.ai.

Site analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic traffic data (page views, referrers, countries). Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not collect personal data.

What we don't collect

  • We don't use cookies
  • We don't require an account to use the free scan
  • We don't sell or share your data with third parties
  • We don't track you across other websites

How we use your data

  • To generate and deliver your scan and audit results
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To send you your audit report via email
  • To prevent abuse (rate limiting)
  • To improve our scanning accuracy and service quality

Third-party services

Where your data is stored

The Obaron website is hosted on Cloudflare Workers (global edge network). Scan processing runs on a dedicated server in Hillsboro, Oregon (United States). All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

Data retention

  • Scan cache: 30 days (auto-deleted)
  • Email addresses: until you request deletion
  • Payment records: retained by Stripe per their policies
  • Aggregate analytics: indefinite (no personal data)
  • Server logs: 14 days

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Deletion — request deletion of your data, including scan results and email
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

Changes

We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
